How You Can Finally Rid Yourself of Keratosis Pilaris!

Keratosis pilaris, or otherwise known as KP, is a very common genetic follicular disease that is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin and therefore known as “chicken skin.” Generally it will appear on the outer sides of the body in addition to the upper arms, but can also occur on thighs and buttocks or any body part except the palms or the soles of feet.

Studies have shown that KP affects an estimated forty to fifty percent of the adult population and approximately fifty to eighty percent of all teenagers. It is more common in women than in men. Varying in degree, cases of KP can range from moderate to severe. Moderate KP bumps are scattered and include no or very little irritation. Severe includes large areas that include no smooth skin at all. The affected area is always covered by bumps and in the majority of the cases it is very irritated.

Teenagers will typically contract KP on the upper section of the arms. On babies it is mostly shows up on the cheeks and neck. Keratosis pilaris is unsightly but completely harmless. It is usually worse during the winter months or other times of low humidity when skin dries out, and may worsen during pregnancy or after childbirth. Here is when the problem can become exacerbated with a higher pronunciation in texture and color.

Keratosis pilaris tends to occur as excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin, accumulates around hair follicles (process known as hyperkeratinization). This leads to the proliferation of tiny hard bumps on the skin that are a cosmetic nuisance. They are rarely itchy or sore.

Keratosis Pilaris Treatment

The skin loses its ability to regenerate itself when these dead skin cells block up the hair follicle. The excessive adherence of this material leads to the formation of these scaly plugs. Treatment requires that the dead cells shed off to open room for fresh and healthy cells to take their place. What is necessary is a skin care treatment that will unplog the blocked follicles in order for the skin to resume its natural regeneration process.

The natural skin products of the BIOCUTIS skin care line implement a regenerating skin serum produced by snails that has the effect of eliminating a wide variety of skin ailments including keratosis pilaris. A snail emits this skin serum to maintain its health and survival against the obstacles of being fully exposed to the sun and constantly incurring injuries from travelling over Earth’s elements. The published scientific study from October, 2007 in Skin Pharmacology and Physiology, “Molecular Basis for the Regenerative Properties of a Secretion of the Mollusk Cryptomphalus Aspersa,” confirmed what were the biological activators in this serum that provided such effective skin benefits. Because human skin is made of the same components that make up snail skin, its skin regenerating properties are effective for us too! This biological compound “digests” the keratin plugs in order for fresh skin cells to re-enter the follicle. It dissolves the abnormal tissues that KP leaves behind, releasing their amino acids for the rebuilding of healthy tissues. Discover this skin repair formula within one of our many 100% organic skin products, and eliminate keratosis pilaris through a natural and gentle treatment. You will be amazed at what the acceleration of the production of healthy skin cells does to skin texture and balance. Wrinkle Free in 2 Steps:

In the News:

Barbara Walters News Special: On 60 Minutes, Dr. Christoph Wesphal explains that Resveratrol is a naturally occurring component of red wine that can apparently extend human life.

WebMD: Resveratrol may prolong life and fight age-related diseases.

Resveratrol is one of a group of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols found in red wine that has been reported to have anti-inflammatory as well as anticancer properties.

Resveratrol may counter type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, a new study shows.

CNN: At high doses, resveratrol appears to prolong life spans and improve health in mice. Human trials are under way.

This research, funded in part by the National Institute on Aging, was published in the journals Nature and Call in November, and bottles of resveratrol have been flying off the shelves since. Dr. Brent Bauer, director of the Department of Internal Medicine's Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic says "This may be the best thing since sliced bread for human beings, but we just don't know yet."

Fox News: For years, red wine has been linked to numerous health benefits. But the new study, published online in the journal Nature on Thursday, shows that mammals given ultrahigh doses of resveratrol can get the good effects of cutting calories without actually doing it.

"If we're right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry," Sinclair said. "It's the Holy Grail of aging research."
