The Most Common Myths about Acne

There are a number of myths going around, about what causes the appearance of acne. Poor hygiene and fatty foods are two of the most common myths.

A lot of people think that a poor hygiene causes acne and usually react by over-washing their face. This can make the problem worse because you can strip the skin from its natural lipids, harming the skins own biological barrier function. P. Acnes is a normal part of the epidermis. They avoid attacks from other, more harmful microbes. When oil is trapped in the follicles, P. acnes will grow within the blocked pore. These bacteria produce chemicals that alter the composition of the oil, which can cause irritation and inflammation to the skin.

Food with a high level of fat like French fries and hamburgers are never a good choice in the first place. It can be harming to your organism if your consume these foods on a regular basis. It is important to either eat them in moderate amounts, or keep away from them.

These fatty foods have long been thought to be what initiates acne breakouts. These foods are however not the cause of acne because no scientific research has been able to gather evidence on this theory. Individuals are different and some people might notice that breakouts may appear after consuming certain foods, but these foods are not restricted to junk-food.

Many foods now a day are created with trans fatty acids to extend their ’shelf-life’, and these acids make unsaturated fats, saturated. Essential fatty acids which are important constituents of sebum, are replaced with trans fats. Dryness is avoided by sebum, lubricating follicles, pores and surrounding skin. The sebaceous glands begin to produce sebum with oleic acids which is drier, harder and more prone to cause blackheads, whiteheads and form follicular plugs that can lead to infection.

Did you ever think that Chocolate might be Good for you?

Chocolate is another suspect that causes acne blemishes, but then again, no there is no specific evidence that this food is the cause. Chocolate is actually good for you, in moderate amounts of course. Chocolate has recently been discovered to be one of the most concentrated sources of flavinoids which are rich antioxidants. Antioxidants have the ability to destroy free radicals and inhibit lipid oxidation. The fat content in cocoa butter is composed mainly of high amounts of linoleic acid which gives chocolate the quality to prevent pimples and scars

Fatty foods and a poor hygiene is not what triggers acne. It is rather a lack in essential fatty acids that makes the skin react with non-helping responses that can boost acne implications. You can still prefer a lifestyle containing foods that you enjoy, but you might need an effective pimples treatment that is able to supply you with the necessary constituents to get a clear skin surface.

BIOSKINCARE is an effective pimples treatment product that will aid your skin to maintain essential fatty acids, so crucial for a pimples-free and scar-free complexion.

In the News:

Barbara Walters News Special: On 60 Minutes, Dr. Christoph Wesphal explains that Resveratrol is a naturally occurring component of red wine that can apparently extend human life.

WebMD: Resveratrol may prolong life and fight age-related diseases.

Resveratrol is one of a group of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols found in red wine that has been reported to have anti-inflammatory as well as anticancer properties.

Resveratrol may counter type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, a new study shows.

CNN: At high doses, resveratrol appears to prolong life spans and improve health in mice. Human trials are under way.

This research, funded in part by the National Institute on Aging, was published in the journals Nature and Call in November, and bottles of resveratrol have been flying off the shelves since. Dr. Brent Bauer, director of the Department of Internal Medicine's Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic says "This may be the best thing since sliced bread for human beings, but we just don't know yet."

Fox News: For years, red wine has been linked to numerous health benefits. But the new study, published online in the journal Nature on Thursday, shows that mammals given ultrahigh doses of resveratrol can get the good effects of cutting calories without actually doing it.

"If we're right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry," Sinclair said. "It's the Holy Grail of aging research."
