Skin Health, From Natural Remedies to Cosmetic Surgery

Moisturizing every Type of Skin

The best way to keep your skin radiant and healthy is by maintaining a daily skin care routine. Even though every step is important, many people with oily or combination skin feel that it is unnecessary to moisturize. However, if you don’t moisturize you won’t be able to keep your skin hydrated, and strong.

Everyone, no matter what skin type, needs to moisturize daily. Moisture refers to your skin’s water content and not its lipid content. In other words, having dry or oily skin has nothing to do with dryness.

Fortunately, there are products for every skin type whether you are moisturizing dry skin, oily skin, or combination skin.

Moisturizing Combination Skin - Easier than you Think

Combination skin is a mix of dry skin and oily skin. Therefore, it requires products that are specially designed for it. You can also try a product for dry skin if you have more dry patches or a product for oily skin if you have more oily areas.

Oily Skin Can be moisturized with Light Products

People with oily skin should stay away from oil-based products. Instead, they should try water-based formulas which are light enough to be absorbed quickly without leaving behind pore clogging residue.

As with dry skin, you should always remember to apply your moisturizer before your skin is completely dry. Don’t forget that skin dryness has to do with a lack of moisture not a lack of oil.

Moisturizing Dry Skin

There are probably more products out there for dry skin than for the other skin types, but it can still be a challenge to find the right one for you. First of all you need to determine whether you have regular dry skin or very dry skin. This will help determine the type of product you need.

If you just have dry skin, you will need to use a creamy moisturizer after you cleanse. As part of your basic routine you will need to moisturize at least twice a day. You can safely reapply moisturizer when needed if during the day you feel that your skin is taut.

If after having applied a creamy moisturizer your skin still feels taut then it may be time for oil. You can decide to use a mineral oil, body oil or olive oil. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen if you are going to be outdoors.

An advantage to using oil is that it will absorb more quickly than creams. This is the reason that they are more effective for people with very dry skin. In fact, they can also be used on people with dry, sensitive skin because they contain very little additives.

BIOSKINBALM is an excellent skin care product that contains snail serum and provides a soothing sensation for dry skin care and overall dry skin relief. These ingredients are also what make BIOSKINBALM a perfect cream for all skin types.

Wrinkle Free in 2 Steps:

In the News:

Barbara Walters News Special: On 60 Minutes, Dr. Christoph Wesphal explains that Resveratrol is a naturally occurring component of red wine that can apparently extend human life.

WebMD: Resveratrol may prolong life and fight age-related diseases.

Resveratrol is one of a group of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols found in red wine that has been reported to have anti-inflammatory as well as anticancer properties.

Resveratrol may counter type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, a new study shows.

CNN: At high doses, resveratrol appears to prolong life spans and improve health in mice. Human trials are under way.

This research, funded in part by the National Institute on Aging, was published in the journals Nature and Call in November, and bottles of resveratrol have been flying off the shelves since. Dr. Brent Bauer, director of the Department of Internal Medicine's Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic says "This may be the best thing since sliced bread for human beings, but we just don't know yet."

Fox News: For years, red wine has been linked to numerous health benefits. But the new study, published online in the journal Nature on Thursday, shows that mammals given ultrahigh doses of resveratrol can get the good effects of cutting calories without actually doing it.

"If we're right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry," Sinclair said. "It's the Holy Grail of aging research."
