Make your Own Natural Skin Care Products

Natural skin treatments are quickly becoming a popular part of the spa experience. As a matter of fact, some of the most extravagant products are being used as ingredients for these handmade products, which implies an elevated cost for most spa treatments.

Nevertheless, you can attain their benefits without spending a fortune, by simply taking the time to make them at home. Just about anything you find in your refrigerator or pantry can be used to help give your skin a smooth, moisturized and rejuvenated appearance.

Let’s look at some of the most popular skin treatments you can make at home: body scrubs and face masks.

Natural Body Scrubs

A scrub can relieve stress while it removes impurities from your skin. In fact, if you want to relax even more, ask your partner to apply the scrub.

Sea Salt Scrub (not recommended for people with dry or sensitive skin):

Combine the following ingredients in a mixing bowl: 1 cup of fine sea salt, one-half cup of grapeseed or almond oil, 10 drops of grapefruit essential oil and 10 drops of juniper essential oil. Spread the paste over your damp skin and massage gently. Make sure you concentrate on your heels and elbows. This scrub can also help treat your scalp.

Don’t use the scrub more than twice a month.

Bran and Almond Scrub:

Mix one-half cup of very finely ground almonds and one-half cup of coarse wheat bran. Add 1 cup of hot green tea and form a smooth paste. Allow the mixture to cool and add 10 drops of lavender essential oil.

Use this facial scrub no more than once a week.

Seed Scrub

You can make this scrub by using either one cup of finely ground flaxseed or sunflower seeds. Add one half cup of heavy cream or milk and stir thoroughly. This scrub is great for winter because it helps restore moisture to the skin. It can even be used as a daily treatment for sensitive skin.

Make your own Facial Masks

It is important to pay particular attention to your face as the skin there is more sensitive than other areas. This is one of the reasons natural skin care is a good idea for facial skin care.

Yogurt Mask:

To make a yogurt mask all you need to do is mix together 1 teaspoon of natural yogurt with 1 tsp of runny honey. Apply the mixture to your face and let it set for 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

Lemon Face Mask (good for oily skin):

If you want to make a lemon mask you’ll need to mix the following ingredients together: four tablespoons of clay, two teaspoons each of lemon pulp, honey, and water. Apply the paste to your face and let it set for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes has passed, use a moist washcloth to remove the mask.

Spas advertise bio skin care as a great way of treating skin naturally, however all they’re really doing is trying to sell you a high-end treatment that basically consists of all natural skin care. You can either fall for their promises or do one of two things: make your own natural skin care products or purchase a cream that will save you the trouble of making your own mix, but still offer the a safe and effective treatment. Where can you find one? Try using a natural product such as BIOSKINCARE.

Wrinkle Free in 2 Steps:

In the News:

Barbara Walters News Special: On 60 Minutes, Dr. Christoph Wesphal explains that Resveratrol is a naturally occurring component of red wine that can apparently extend human life.

WebMD: Resveratrol may prolong life and fight age-related diseases.

Resveratrol is one of a group of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols found in red wine that has been reported to have anti-inflammatory as well as anticancer properties.

Resveratrol may counter type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, a new study shows.

CNN: At high doses, resveratrol appears to prolong life spans and improve health in mice. Human trials are under way.

This research, funded in part by the National Institute on Aging, was published in the journals Nature and Call in November, and bottles of resveratrol have been flying off the shelves since. Dr. Brent Bauer, director of the Department of Internal Medicine's Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic says "This may be the best thing since sliced bread for human beings, but we just don't know yet."

Fox News: For years, red wine has been linked to numerous health benefits. But the new study, published online in the journal Nature on Thursday, shows that mammals given ultrahigh doses of resveratrol can get the good effects of cutting calories without actually doing it.

"If we're right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry," Sinclair said. "It's the Holy Grail of aging research."
