Acne Treatment: Learn How to Treat Acne if you Suffer From Dry Skin

Oily and combination skin is more prone to acne problems than dry skin, however, this doesn’t mean that just because you have dry skin you’ll be acne free. As a matter of fact, anyone that has dry skin can find effective treatments for acne, however, they need to understand that these treatments are very different than those used to treat oily and combination skin.

With dry skin, acne lesions appear under the surface of the skin. This can create itchy and painful nodules. This makes it impossible to pop a pimple, as most people usually do. In fact, any type of pressure applied to the affected area will result in widespread infection and inflammation.

Instead, alleviate your acne by using moisturizer. This sound complete haywire, but it actually works on dry skin and here’s why:

The biggest problem with dry skin is a low level of moisture. This means that dry skin tends to dry out and even produce minute cracks through which acne bacteria can enter. If you moisturize regularly and frequently, you can keep your skin supple and resistant against these small cracks.

Another way to keep your skin moisturized is to use oil as a cleanser. Although, not just any oil will do. Use non-comedogenic oils, such as olive oil, and massage it into your skin.

The oil can be removed with a warm, moist washcloth. Once the oil has been removed, you should apply a moisturizer before the moisture has evaporated from your skin. This procedure is very effective in people with very dry and sensitive skin.

Following a proper cleansing routine that includes a good acne cream will also help prevent acne and treat acne lesions. You shouldn’t use products designed for oily skin because these types of acne treatments are usually too harsh for dry skin.

A regular cleansing routine will help you deal with mild and moderate acne. However, you will need to rely on a medical professional if you have severe acne. Not taking acne seriously will only worsen the problem and lead to acne scarring that will most often require acne scar removal.

Other Types of Acne Ingredients for Dry Skin

Traditional acne creams are often made with ingredients that are too harsh for dry skin. This is can be avoided by looking for products that contain more gentle ingredients such as:

-Vitamin B complex. Acne has been linked to a deficiency in Vitamin B5. You can treat this problem by taking supplements and looking for skin care products that contain this ingredient.

-Tea Tree Oil. This product should be diluted before being used. Simply take a clean cotton ball and apply a few drops of this ingredient to moisten it, once ready, apply the moistened cotton ball to the affected area.

-AHAs. Alpha-hydroxy acids are known to help promote exfoliation. If they are too strong for your skin, then use occasionally to treat key problems.

Although acne home remedies are appealing, there are certain skin problems, such as cystic acne and other types of severe acne that require a more potent solution, like BIOSKINFORTE. BIOSKINFORTE is a natural skin care product that contains snail serum, a natural ingredient that can deal with all types of acne problems and can even be used as a back acne treatment.

In the News:

Barbara Walters News Special: On 60 Minutes, Dr. Christoph Wesphal explains that Resveratrol is a naturally occurring component of red wine that can apparently extend human life.

WebMD: Resveratrol may prolong life and fight age-related diseases.

Resveratrol is one of a group of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols found in red wine that has been reported to have anti-inflammatory as well as anticancer properties.

Resveratrol may counter type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, a new study shows.

CNN: At high doses, resveratrol appears to prolong life spans and improve health in mice. Human trials are under way.

This research, funded in part by the National Institute on Aging, was published in the journals Nature and Call in November, and bottles of resveratrol have been flying off the shelves since. Dr. Brent Bauer, director of the Department of Internal Medicine's Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic says "This may be the best thing since sliced bread for human beings, but we just don't know yet."

Fox News: For years, red wine has been linked to numerous health benefits. But the new study, published online in the journal Nature on Thursday, shows that mammals given ultrahigh doses of resveratrol can get the good effects of cutting calories without actually doing it.

"If we're right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry," Sinclair said. "It's the Holy Grail of aging research."
